Felt bags: tactile but tough!
Felt is a wonderfully tactile fabric, soft to the touch and yet tough enough to make it practical for producing a range of attractive bags and accessories. We’ve made plenty already – tote bags, shoppers, bottle bags, iPad sleeves and document wallets, to name but a few! Felt also does a great job of protecting the contents of any bag (not to mention surfaces) from scratches, etc. which probably explains why it’s such a popular choice for tablet sleeves. As you can see from the selection below, felt can be dyed any colour (even Pantone matching possible) and looks especially striking when combined with different colours and/or textures:
The mini iPad sleeve in grey felt, for example, incorporates neon pink grained PU leather and a black elasticated strap. Inside are pockets of various sizes and options for branding include labels, embroidered logos and print: colour, metallic or otherwise.
We’ve produced felt sleeves and cases to accommodate tablets of all sizes and can include hardware like zip and press stud fastenings, as well as slots for business cards and other essentials.Stitching two layers of felt together results in a really strong carrier or case with a smart silhouette – just take a look at the sturdy felt shopper with its contrast colour lining. You can even add felt decorations to your felt bag if you wish.
One of our favourite pieces is the G.F. Smith bag, specially designed to hold a very heavy, yet very delicate paper swatch book. Distributed to designers at an event, the felt carry bag was practical for attendees and will provide lasting protection for the swatches inside.
Our felt bottle bags are also great for gifting and are not only stylish, but reusable and really easy to customise. So when presentation is everything, contact us at The Bag Workshop – we’d be only too happy to help!
